Tom Cruise's Latest “Mission: Impossible”: Christmas 2011

Tom Cruise has a holiday "Mission" on the way.

"Mission: Impossible 4" will arrive in theaters on December 16, 2011, Paramount confirmed to Access Hollywood on Thursday.

According to Variety, Pixar helmer Brad Bird is "circling" the director's chair.

The film will arrive on the same date as another anticipated sequel, the third installment of "Alvin and the Chipmunks 3-D."

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Tom will also co-produce the film alongside J.J. Abrams, who directed "Mission: Impossible 3."

Cruise recently wrapped production on the spy thriller "Knight and Day," opposite Cameron Diaz, slated for release in July 2010.
