Christina Aguilera Postpones Tour Until 2011

Christina Aguilera is postponing her North American summer tour until 2011, she announced Monday.

"Christina Aguilera's summer tour has been moved to 2011 due to prior commitments that the singer had made to her film, 'Burlesque' and to the promotion of her new album, 'Bionic,'" a statement from Live Nation noted. "The singer felt she needed more time to rehearse the show and with less than a month between the album release and tour date this wasn't possible. New dates will be announced later this year."

A rep for the singer also confirmed the news, adding that the move was made "so we can promote the album and the film." "Bionic" hits stores on June 8, while "Burlesque" is slated to open in theaters in November.

The tour, with special guest Leona Lewis, was scheduled to begin in Uncansville, Conn., in mid-July and end on Aug. 19, 2010 in Irvine, Calif., at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre. The new tour dates have not yet been announced.

Christina is slated to perform "Not Myself Tonight," the single off of her new album, however, on the finale of "American Idol" on Wednesday, as well as the MTV Movie Awards on June 6.

"Not Myself Tonight" was released in March 2010 and has since peaked at number 23 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
