Billy Mays' Family: Cocaine Didn't Lead To Death

The widow of TV pitchman Billy Mays says an independent medical examiner has determined cocaine use did not contribute to her late husband's death.

In a statement released Thursday, Deborah Mays says the examiner reviewed autopsy materials and found no evidence of chronic cocaine use. The physician classified his death as "natural."

The energetic, pop-culture fixture was found dead in his family's Tampa condo in June.

The Hillsborough County medical examiner's office conducted the official autopsy and determined that cocaine use contributed to the heart disease that suddenly killed him.

Mays' family disagreed with the official findings and hired an independent examiner.
