Dead Body, Drug Arrest Cloud “America's Got Talent”

Contestant auditioned while cops searched for his wife

"America's Got Talent" is usually about singing, dancing and cool stunts, but drugs and a dead body took center stage in the show's LA auditions.

Joe Finley, who auditioned for the NBC talent contest Saturday, did so after reporting his wife missing. Her body was later discovered in the stairwell of the Millennium Hotel, where the couple stayed and he has been named a "person of Interest" by LA cops.

He was also arrested for drug possession after he admitted, as cops questioned him about his wife, to having three Ectsacy pills on him. No official cause of death has been released for Laura Finley, 48, but law enforcement sources say it appears accidental.

"We are fully cooperating with authorities to investigate this very unfortunate situation and have no further comment at this time," said Manfred Westphal, a spokesman for the hit show.

Finley was released on $10,000 bail early Sunday.
