Vick Should be Executed: Tucker Carlson

Fox News pundit thinks Vick should have gotten the death penalty.

Conservative pundit Tucker Carlson, filling in for Fox News host Sean Hannity  Tuesday, weighed in on President Obama weighing in on Michael Vick’s prison sentence. He admitted that he “believe[s] fervently in second chances.”

But apparently the fervor cools off when it comes to the Eagles’ quarterback and his animal abuse.

"Michael Vick killed dogs, and he did [it] in a heartless and cruel way," Carlson said during a "Hannity" panel. “I think, personally, he should have been executed for that.”

He seemed to be insulted that Vick’s sentence was only two years.

To be sure, the panel mostly focused on comments President Obama made to Eagles owner Jeff Lurie saying that the QB deserved a second chance—and whether those comments were appropriate coming from a president.

But Carlson went on to call Vick a “creepy, rich, overpaid football player.”

Naturally, the comments have caused a strong reaction.

"I think the guy's comments are ridiculous," said Eagles fans Jack Decola.  "Leave the guy alone, let him play football."

The always outspoken Governor Ed Rendell also weighed in.

"That is ridiculous," said Rendell in a released statement. "Michael Vick served an appropriate sentence in a federal penitentiary. That is not a country club prison."

Neither the Eagles nor Mike Vick have responded to Carlson's comments.
