10 Places To Take The Family This Easter

Hippidy Hoppidy Easter’s on its way! There are many events going on in Connecticut this holiday to help you get the family together and celebrate. Here are some kid-friendly events that you and your family can enjoy.

The New England Air Museum is holding their 4th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on March 30. Families and children between the ages of one to ten are invited to hop on in to the fun from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for an Easter egg hunt. Kids are divided up into two age groups and must find one egg in each color. Once all the colors are found, they can exchange the eggs for a prize bag. The Easter Bunny will also be there between the hours of 10:30 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The museum will have additional activities for children to enjoy.

Adventure Park at the Discovery Museum will be holding an Easter egg hunt on the ground, and in the trees. This climbing and zip line course invites families to see how well you can do on the trails while hunting for Easter eggs. Easter Bunny Fun Days at the CT Trolley Museum - The Connecticut Trolley Museum in East Windsor is holding Easter Bunny Fun Days on March 30 and 31. The Easter Bunny will be hopping around and posing for pictures between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Children will receive an extra-large Easter egg full of goodies after they complete an Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt. Face painting and arts and crafts will also be available for the little ones. Take a trolley ride or take a seat at the picnic tables and watch them arrive and depart from the station. Prices range from $3 - $12.

Bunny Trains at Danbury Railway Museum - The Easter Bunny is back for a visit at the Danbury Railway Museum. Take a ride in a vintage train through the rail yard to visit him. Each child will receive a small gift from the Bunny too. This annual family event takes place on Friday and Saturday, March 30 and 31. The train leaves every half hour between the hours of 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Forest East Egg Adventure at Stamford Museum & Nature Center - Stamford Museum and Nature Center is where adventure takes place on the Wheels in the Wood trail. It all begins with an egg hunt on the trails where kids can gather eggs in the woods. Then, head over to the Overbrook Nature Center where kids get to meet some live animals and get creative with arts and crafts. Kids then exchange their found eggs for a goody bag. EggStravaganza at KidsPlay Children’s Museum - KidsPlay Children’s Museum in Torrington is hosting an EggStravaganza event on March 30. This “egg-cellent” event will provide many different activities for kids to enjoy. These include a scavenger hunt for egg clues throughout the museum. Each clue helps you come closer and closer to revealing a message. Once you have all the clues, the message will be revealed and you can collect your prize. Act out Humpty Dumpty, play musical chairs or break out your dance moves at the Bunny Hop dance. Adults are $12 and children under 24 months are free.

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at Mystic Aquarium - Hop, or swim, your way over to Mystic Aquarium and start off your Easter weekend with a breakfast with the Easter Bunny on March 31. Ocean Blue Catering is providing the breakfast that will leave you with a full stomach. Enjoy this breakfast among the indoor exhibits. Don’t forget your camera for photo opportunities, especially with the Easter Bunny. Advanced registration is required and ticket sales end 48 hours before the breakfast date. An Egg-straordinary Egg-stravaganza at Stepping Stones Museum for Children - Stepping Stones Museum for Children in Norwalk is hosting their Egg-straordinary Egg-stravaganza event on March 31! Start of the day by meeting the event's host, Benedict the Egg. Children can select an egg to decorate and personalize for their Egg Roll competition. Kids can participate in other activities as well, like face painting, an egg flipping station, games, and an egg scavenger hunt. Musicians Jay and Ray will be performing at 11 a.m. with interactive, kid-friendly music.

Farmington Miniature Golf & Ice Cream Parlor’s 22nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt - Farmington Miniature Golf & Ice Cream Parlor is holding their 22nd annual Easter Egg Hunt event on March 31. For kids ages 1 to 9, be ready to hunt for over 15,000 Easter eggs. Afternoon activities include face painting, bounce houses, tie-dye vanilla ice cream cones, pictures with the Easter Bunny, and more. Last year’s event brought in thousands of families from throughout Connecticut and helped raised $4,500 for Our Companions Animal Rescue to help animals in need. The event starts at 11 a.m. and goes until 2 p.m.

Brunch with the Bunny at the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts - The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts invites you to hop on down to Hartford for a brunch with the bunny on March 31. Join them for a “fun-filled, family-centered” brunch with a buffet sure to please even the pickiest eater. Take part in the Ultimate Egg/Treasure Hunt, arts and crafts, photos with Peter Cottontail himself, and even some surprises. The brunch starts at 10 a.m. and limited seating is available.
