If Dapper Day is your bag, you may want to check out what Disneyland actually looked like on opening day, July 17, 1955.
The poodle skirts, the charm, the cameos by Ronald Reagan other stars of the era -- it's all gushing with classic vintage magic.
On this day in 1955, a whole 64 years ago, 22,000 people including actors and officials were invited to the grand opening at the Anaheim park. Some media outlets say that there were actually supposed to be just 6,000 tickets, but some 22,000 showed up with counterfeit tickets, bringing the real total to 28,000.
And ticket prices -- wait for it -- were $1 for adults, and a mere 50 cents for children. But it's important to note that each ride had a fee -- 25 to 35 cents for adults and 10 to 25 cents for children.
There were 35 rides in all, so if you wanted to ride everything, it would come to about $8.70 for an adult, and $5.15 for each child, according to an Associated Press report from the day of the opening.
Oh, how times have changed.
But that means technology, rides and attractions have also obviously changed.
With the latest addition of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, and the upcoming Marvel-themed addition and brewery approved for California Adventure.
