Enjoys Sweet Sounds at Litchfield Jazz Festival 2013

The Litchfield Jazz Festival will be held on Aug. 9 to 11.

The Litchfield Jazz Festival is back from August 9 to 11 for its 18th year of music, vendors and fun. The event will take place at the Goshen Fair Grounds in Goshen.

In the past, the Litchfield Jazz Festival has hosted jazz greats, including James Moody, Jimmy Heath and Sonny Rollins.

This year, the festival will not disappoint.

It will kick off with performances by Tony Award winning singer and actress Christine Ebersole and the jazz violin group Aaron Weinstein Trio in “Strings Attached!.”  Ebersole is famous for her revival of 42nd Street, and other Broadway revivals.  Weinstein, the 28-year-old violinist, has appeared at Carnegie Hall and has recorded with Les Paul and Scott Hamilton.

Other acts include Gregory Porter, Eddie Palmieri, Orrin Evans Trio and more.  Among these main-stage acts are two Connecticut residents, vocalist June Bisaantz and flamenco guitarist Val Ramos.

Along with the extensive jazz lineup, there will also be many vendors selling crafts, clothing and jewelry.

Listen to the soothing music as you shop!  On top of that, the Litchfield Jazz Festival offers multiple food options to satisfy everyone’s appetite.  Beer and wine will also be available for those 21 and older.

Wondering how to entertain the kids?  No worries!  The brand new Kids Zone will offer magic shows, stilt walkers, face painting and more!
