Fireball Run Traveling Trivia Game Comes to Hartford

The Fireball Run, a traveling 2,000-mile life-size trivia game, is coming to Hartford and police are warning that this will lead to road closures in the capital city.

Four astronauts from all over the world, four celebrities, and 40 rally teams will compete in the eight-day Fireball Run, solving clues that lead to the next adventure.

The live event raises awareness for missing children and the driving teams are assigned a missing child from their area and are asked to distribute 1,000 missing child flyers. To date, the campaign has helped find 44 missing children, according to the web site for Fireball Run.

The four astronauts competing include the USA’s own Capt. Jon McBride, Brazil’s Col. Marcos Pontes, India’s CDR. Rakesh Sharma, and France’s Gen. Jean-Loup Chretien. There is also a Team Hartford. Learn about the members here.

The event begins in Hartford, then moves to Queen Anne’s County, Maryland; Williamsburg, Virginia; Topsail Island, North Carolina; Florence, South Carolina; Liberty County, Georgia; and finally finishes in Cocoa Beach, Florida on Oct. 3.

On Saturday, vehicles will be on display on Trinity Street and Elm Street will be closed from Pulaski Circle/West Street to Trinity Street, and Trinity Street will be closed from Capitol Avenue to the Arch from 9 a.m. to 6p.m.

On Sunday, Main Street will be closed from Pearl Street to Capitol Avenue from 4 a.m. to 11 a.m. The HPD Traffic Division will assist Fireball Teams travel from the rally area to I- 84 West.
