J. Timothy's to Close for 2 Weeks for Renovations

If you're planning a night out at J. Timothy’s Taverne, or to order take out, act quickly or you'll have to wait for two weeks.

The Plainville restaurant known for its famous "dirt style" chicken wings will close on Saturday for major kitchen renovation and expansion work that is expected to take about two weeks.

The building that houses the restaurant went up in 1789 as a large house and tavern.

The current owners bought it in 1979 and reopened it as Cooke's Tavern in 1980. It was reborn as J. Timothy's in 1988.
