Meriden to Hold Daffodil Festival in April

Spring really is on the way and so is the 36th annual Meriden Daffodil Festival.

Head to Hubbard Park on April 26 and April 27 and take in the sight of more than 600,000 daffodils.

The event includes a craft fair, with work by talented artists and craftspeople.

If you’re a foodie, check out what the nearly 50 vendors will dishing out.

It’s an event for the whole family, with children’s rides and the annual Little Miss Daffodil pageant for students from Meriden schools.

Around 11 a.m. on Saturday, around 3,000 people will march in the Daffodils on Parade.

The day will conclude with fireworks at 8:30 p.m. and gates close at 9 p.m.

Sunday is Kid’s Day, with include unlimited carnival rides like a Ferris wheel, merry-go-round and miniature for $25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. as well as free activities at the Theater of Trees like face painting, temporary tattoos, balloon figures, live animals, ice carving, hula hooping and shows.

Gates will close at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
