Actor and restauranteur Mark Wahlberg visited the new MGM Springfield Thursday to announce the future opening of a Wahlburgers restaurant at the new resort casino.
Wahlburgers, a popular family-run burger chain that has been profiled in an A&E reality series, is scheduled to open in late 2019 in Springfield.
“When we started this family business, our goal was to invite friends and families from around the world to enjoy great burgers together,” Mark Wahlberg said. “We can’t wait for Wahlburgers to be a part of MGM Springfield.”
President and chief operating officer of MGM Springfield Michael Mathis said “We are incredibly excited to partner with the Wahlberg brothers to bring this fun destination to our property. The Wahlbergs are a staple in the Massachusetts community, making this restaurant the ideal addition to our resort.”

The first western Massachusetts location will be constructed at Main and Union streets.
The company's motto is "Our Family, Our Story, Our Burgers."
The only Wahlburgers currently in Connecticut is located in Trumbull.
