Which Stores are Offering the Biggest Black Friday Discounts?

Black Friday is always one of the busiest and most popular shopping days of the year.  The excitement over this day comes from a combination of deep discounts and extended store hours.  It's also the unofficial start of the final push for holiday shopping.

But with more stores opening early and offering Black Friday deals ahead of the day after Thanksgiving, personal finance site WalletHub put together a list of the best discounts.

WalletHub analyzed close to 10,000 deals from 35 of the nation's biggest retailers.

According to the site, the best discounts this year will come from Kohl's and JCPenney, each offering average discounts of greater than 66 percent.

The largest percentage of discounts were concentrated in the apparel & accessories category, followed by computers & phones, and appliances.  The least discounted categories were: consumer packaged goods, video game software, books, movies, and music.

In the apparel and accessories category, JCPenney and Sears are each offering more than 60 percent discounts.  JCPenney also ranks high for discounts in computers, phones, and consumer packaged goods.

Looking to buy jewelery for yourself or a special someone?  WalletHub suggests Kohl's, Shopko, Sears, JCPenney, or Stage.  The top toy discounts come from Stage, Belk, Shopko, Kohl's, and JCPenney.

Wal-Mart, Target, and Best Buy all plan to offer some of the best discounts for video game software products.

According to the site, here are the retailers providing a greater than 50 percent average discount on this year's Black Friday deals:

1. Kohl's - 66.3%

2. JCPenney - 66.3%

3. Belk - 62.8%

4. Stage - 60.8%

5. Shopko - 55.9%

6. Bealls Florida - 52.8%

7. Sears - 50.1%

Some of the stores that ranked lower on the list are warehouse chains that are already known for low prices.
