Souper-Bowl Sunday: Chowdafest

Chowder cook-off coming to Bridgeport

The New England Patriots are one of the favorites to reach the Super Bowl next month in New Orleans, but even if they don't, another New England favorite will be featured on the day of the big game.

The fifth annual Chowdafest is coming to the Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport on February 3.  The event has become the biggest chowder and soup competition in all of New England, with an expected crowd of about 10,000 people expected this year.

Chowdafest will feature award-winning restaurants and chefs competing to see who has the most delicious and delectable chowder around.

And it's all up to you to decide the winner of this SOUPer Bowl.

For $10, you can sample all the entries, then vote on your favorite.  Kids can taste for just $5.  Adding to the atmosphere will be the sights and sounds of the Sacred Heart University marching band.

Chowdafest runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. And here's the best part, proceeds from the competition will benefit the Connecticut Food Bank.
