Cosmic Omelet
Cosmic Omelet is an NBC Connecticut staff favorite, and they're more than just delicious food. After 14 years they are still coming up with new and creative specials. The restaurant contains a "Yellow Brick Road" that leads to an art gallery. Along the way you'll find an elaborated painted space floor, and old school arcade, customer pictures on the wall and all kinds of activities for kids. They even have a "flying pig" in the dining room!

As the name suggests, they offer all manner of omelets and other "out-of-this-world" breakfast items. There is always something new to see and to eat.

General Manager Tracy says "I feel that this place is truly amazing. And we have the greatest clientele a business could ever ask for." Go check out the offerings for yourself - Cosmic Omelet is located at 485 Hartford Road in Manchester.

The Paindiris Family has been serving the West Hartford community for 50 years. Effie’s Place has become a go to spot for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for generations. They serve breakfast all day long, and daily specials and special event catering are available. Shown here is the Big Breakfast - if you can’t decide between eggs or pancakes (or French toast), just order the Big Breakfast and get both! Served with home fries, bacon, sausage links and a hot beverage, you may have to skip lunch.

There's also the Greek Omelette: Effie’s offers delicious Greek specialties for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Start your day with a Greek Omelette made with eggs, beef or chicken gyro, fresh spinach, tomato, black olives and feta cheese.

There's also the West Coast Benedict - If you’re a fan of Benedicts try one of several offered at Effie’s. The West Coast Benedict, a toasted English muffin, topped with grilled tomatoes, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce and avocado is one delicious option. Try this or one of the many other offerings by visiting them at 91 Park Road in West Hartford.

Or you can go for a classic with eggs, hash browns, and your choice of meat on the side. Check them out at 499 Bantam Road in Litchfield.
Luz Ramos
Luz Ramos started The Sloppy Waffle in March of 2013, with the idea to bring good, honest, all natural ingredients to the most important meal of the day. She brings everything from Belgium to make their Liege waffles, which are an authentic Belgium Waffle made from dough, not pancake batter. The dough has all the flavors infused inside - like the pearl sugar made from sweet beats. Pictured above is the "Strawberries and Cream" - fresh strawberry compote, home-style whip cream fresh strawberries, walnuts and powdered sugar. They also have flavors like Chocolate lovers, Smores, Banana Foster, Apple cobbler, Peanut Butter Cup, Blueberry Blast and more. All their dishes are made from Ramos' personal recipes and are all natural or organic.

Another signature dish is the Sloppy Waffle, a breakfast on top of the waffle eggs any style, bacon or sausage (nitrate free) melted cheese on top of the waffle drizzled with real maple syrup (imported from Vermont) and served with their signature home fries.

Another option is the Chicken n Waffles - all natural chicken (no hormones or antibiotics) seasoned to perfection with my secret recipe breading fried and served over the waffle with maple syrup and powdered sugar. They also bake their own bread and offer coffee imported from Puerto Rico and Caribbean-style cafe con leche. Check everything out by visiting them at 2551 Berlin Turnpike in Newington, and look out for a new location opening in Bloomfield this fall.
Laura Pineo, The Red Cabin
The Red Cabin is an amazing family owned restaurant which is opened seven days a week that has been serving delicious home made food since 2006. The Red Cabin has a cozy and friendly atmosphere where "friends and family meet". Pictured here is their "California Eggs Benny."

Pictured here is "The Mess" - homefries sauteed with onions topped with bacon topped with cheddar cheese, two fried eggs, sausage patty and hollandaise sauce, served with grilled corn bread. Yum.

Not really a breakfast food fan? Try out some of the other offers, like their Super Melt burger.

Honorable mention goes to the Harvest Cafe & Bakery in Simsbury, where they'll make you a custom Millennium Falcon pancake if you come in wearing a Star Wars t-shirt. You can't beat that kind of service.
