10/20: Indie Rock, Burgers and Kung Fu Masters

PICKUP STICKS:  Indie Rockers Silversun Pickups are hitting the stage at the Webster Theatre in Hartford tonight.  The band is back with a new album, hoping to build on the success of their 2006 debut album "Carnavas" and the hit song "Lazy Eye."  "Swoon" has already cracked the top 10, and SSPU (what the cool kids call them apparently) will soon be featured on MTV's "Unplugged."  Tickets for tonight's show are $28.  7pm.

BURGER BASH:  I love it when a plan comes together.  Tonight, Plan B will celebrate the honor of being the first restaurant group in the country to become "Certified Humane," thanks to the Humane Farm Animal Care Organization.  Head to their Glastonbury location to enjoy some free burgers, and grab an adult beverage or two while you there.

THEY ARE THE WARRIORS:  Bringing remarkable skill, stunning movement, and out and out bad-ass Kung Fu skills (Sweet!), the Shaolin Warriors will be at UConn's Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts.  The Warriors have brought their spectacularly choreographed show depicting the philosophical theory of the cycle of Buddhism around the world.  (According to the Washington Post, they "combine the agility and grace of gymnasts with the showmanship of Cirque du Soleil performers.”  Tickets are $23-$30.  Click here for more info.  7:30pm.
