CHRISTMAS DAY AT THE MOVIES:  It's a family tradition for countless people, heading to the movies on Christmas Day.  And this year, there are a trio of films that should make just about everybody in your house happy.  First for the adults in the room, there's "Sherlock Holmes."  Robert Downey, Jr. as the classic crime-solver and Jude Law taking on the role of Dr. Watson (you'd think we'd go with an "elementary" joke, but you'd be wrong."  For the kids, it's "Alvin and the Chipmunks 2:  The Squeakquel."  Earl himself, Jason Lee stars in the live action/animation mix as Simon, Theodore and ALVIN head to school and encounter some lady chipmunks.  And for the ladies, we offer "It's Complicated."  Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin star as a divorced couple who tries to decide if love is better a second time around.  Click here for theaters and show-times.

KOSHER COMEDY:  It's that time of the year, when the Jews of the world are brushed aside for the all-encompassing Christmas celebrations.  But we haven't forgotten about you.  All weekend, you can enjoy some outrageous Jewish humor and some delicious Chinese food.  Ophira Eisenberg is headlining the Moo Jew Comedy tour at Szechuan Tokyo in West Hartford.  Not only do you get to enjoy the comedy (this year Myq Kaplan, Dan Shaki and Jason P. Lorber are also featured) but you get a four course meal all for $49.  Dec. 25-27, 7:30pm.

HIT THE LIGHTS:  Now that Santa's work is done, this weekend could be the perfect time to check out his workshop.  the "Northern Lights Express to Santa's Train Workshop" is going on Saturday and Sunday in Thomaston.  The Express is a festival of lights, with displays inside and outside as the train takes passengers on a journey through the Railroad Museum of New England.  And you may even get a chance to meet the big man himself, if he hasn't started his vacation of course.  Tickets are $22.  Trains depart at 4:30pm and 7:30pm both days.

THIS IS SOMETHING ELSE:  So this one has nothing to do with any winter-time holiday, but it should still be fun this weekend.  Joby Rogers, the number one Michael Jackson Impersonator in the world (he's even been on the cover of "Rolling Stone") is bringing the Ultimate Michael Experience to Mohegan Sun Saturday night.  The show features live dancers, a laser light show, pyrotechnics, video and of course music.  Tickets are $35 and $55.  8pm.

EVERYTHING YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT KWANZAA BUT WERE AFRAID TO ASK:  Head to the Charter Oak Cultural Center in Hartford Saturday for the Kwanzaa Day Celebration.  The seven day holiday honoring African heritage and culture kicks off with storytellers, master dancers, musicians, drummers and local artisans.  Traditional African head-wrapping techniques and dancers from the Sankofa Kuumba Cultural Arts Consortium will perform.  The celebration is free to attend.  3pm.

NUNBELIEVABLE:  Christmas is providing some comedy this weekend in WaterburySeven Angels Theatre has a performance of "Nuncrackers."  The show is the first "TV Special" taped by the Nunsense sisters in their convent basement.  The show features songs like "Twelve Days Prior to Christmas," "Santa Ain't Comin' To Our House," "We Three Kings of Orient Are Us" and more.  Tickets are $25 and $20.  8pm.
