2/9: History and Romance

A GLIMPSE OF HISTORY:  It's one of the more intriguing events of this Black History Month. Award-winning actor and activist Danny Glover is joining Felix Justice for a "An Evening with Martin and Langston" at Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic. Glover will portray literary giant Langston Hughes, while Justice brings to life the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Following the performance, the performers will be available for a Q and A session. Tickets for the evening are $10. Show's at 7p.m.

THE DAYS OF LOVE:  Ladies and gentlemen, we are entering that time of year, when we can't get away from the big day of romance. Tonight's winner of couples-time takes us to Burton's Grill. The South Windsor eatery is kicking off the "Six Days of Love." Tonight through the big night, Burton's is offering not just their regular menu, but also a special menu filled with the food of love. There are items including Oysters Rockefeller, Poached Pear Salad, Salmon Oscar and a delicious Filet and Lobster. Finish the night on a sweet note with a slice of Mint Chocolate Cake. Call 860-432-4575 for reservations. Bon Appetite!

THE FOODS OF LOVE: It might not be scientific or approved, but here at WYDT, we think two of the four major food groups should be chocolate and wine (preferably together). Tonight,  at the Lucy Robbins Welles Library in Newington, you can learn how those two fit together to create culinary music. Kim and Kelly of Klassic Kreations Gourmet will teach you how to pair fine chocolates with wine, then share their history and health benefits of each (see, we told you they were healthy). Chocolate samples will be provided. It's perfect for those looking to impress that special someone this Sunday, without having to spend a dime. 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
