3/31: Love For the Locals

SWEET MOVES:  Head over to Mohegan Sun tonight if you're looking to get your groove on.  Disco/R&B/Funk/Hip-Hop band Sugar is taking the stage at the casino's Wolf Den.  The band will play all your favorites from Earth, Wind & Fire and Donna Summer to Christina Aguilera and Outkast.  The show is free, but you have to be 21 or older to take part in the party.  7pm.

CATCH A RISING STAR:  Round out your Hump Day with a few chuckles, guffaws and belly laughs.  There's comedy on the menu tonight at the Barca Nightclub & Lounge in Hartford.  Up-and-coming comics John C. Hinton, Chris Clarke and Angel Rentas will entertain the audience.  All three hail from CT, and draw on their lives to make you laugh.  Tickets are $5, and there's even an after party with DJ Willis (after the show).  10pm-1am.

THROWING COPPER:  Embrace your artistic side tonight in Middletown.  Artist Gina Dunlop is debuting her new exhibit, "Torch Songs" at Wesleyan Potters.  Dunlop's work includes jewelry and metal work that showcases the natural world.  Her pieces are made of things like silver, gold and bronze (very Olympic) combined with things like pears, opals and amber.  The exhibit runs through May 2.
