6/2: Dance the Night Away

DANCING BY THE DECADES:  Tonight, it's all about the oldies, but goodies.

25 years ago, some of the biggest names in '60s pop music joined forces for one of the most successful tours of its day.  Billed as the "Happy Together Tour," acts like the Turtles, the Monkees, Paul Revere & the Raiders, The Grass Roots and the Buckinghams packed in crowds.  Now, on its 25th anniversary, the gang is at it again.  Tonight at the Oakdale in Wallingford, you can see The Turtles, Mickey Dolenz (of the Monkees) The Buckinghams, Mark Lindsay of Paul Revere & the Raiders and the Grass Roots.  Tickets are $30.50-$40.50.  The Happy begins at 7 p.m.

From the pop of the '60s to the disco days of the '70s.  Head to the Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun for a musical flashback.  Disco Inferno is one of the areas most authentic '70s dance bands.  The nine-piece group combines great dance music from the Disco/Funk era with a fun interactive stage show that will appeal to just about everybody.  The show is free and gets underway at 7 p.m.

AINT IT GRAND?:  Step away from your typical Wednesday night dinner fare (it was always pasta night at the WYDT household), and head over to g/r/a/n/d in Stamford.  The restaurant is promising to give you a chic and exciting meal without burning a hole in your wallet.  Executive chef Pasquale Pascarella will prepare a price fix menu that includes a choice of small plates (salad, mac and cheese and marinated beef lettuce wraps), big plates (roasted half chicken, grilled hanger steak, house-made tagliatelle and pan-seared salmon) and sweet plates (crème brulee, chocolate cake and gelato).  And while you enjoy your meal, you can also enjoy a glass or bottle of wine for half price all night long.
