9/16: Going Gaga

GAGA ME:  Not much we can say about this one that you, and thousands of your friends don't already know.  The one and only (thank goodness for that) Lady Gaga is invading Hartford tonight with her Monster Ball Tour.  Gaga is playing the XL Center tonight to make up for the two tour dates she had to cancel in January.  Who knows, maybe she'll line the stage with all her shiny new moonmen.  Either way, it should be worth the price of admission ($49.50-$175) just to see what she's going to wear.  The show starts at 8 p.m.

MEET MARKET:  Are you an oenophile looking for love?  This next one's for you.  The Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society is hosting a Singles Wine Tasting.  From 7-9 p.m., you can get together, play some games, take part in contests, win prizes and drink some wine.  And who knows?  Maybe you'll meet Mr. or Ms. Right.

PERFORMANCE ART:  And now for something completely different.  Head to the Patricelli '92 Theater at Wesleyan tonight to see the work of Rinde EckertEckert began his career writing and performing opera.  He then found his way into experimental theater in San Francisco.  Using those experiences, he began letting his creativity roam free.  Tonight you can see the fruits of those labors in "An Idiot Divine."  The show is actually a pair of one-act plays ("Dry Land Divine" and "The Idiot Variations") written and performed by Eckert himself.  Tickets are $22.  The shows (there's another performance Friday) start at 8 p.m.
