Train buffs are hard-core hobbyists. Whether their passion is creating exact replicas of America’s railways or searching for rail cars to complete collections built over decades, they are serious about model trains and all that goes with them.
That passion will benefit Hartford when the National Train Show makes its first-ever stop in New England this month.
Each year, the National Train Show travels to a different city and state in North America. From Friday, July 10 to Sunday, July 12, it will be at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford. So, get ready for the throngs and move your caboose on over to the show.
The 145,000 square foot building will be filled with trains, including a space the size of an entire football field of simultaneously operating trains.
There will also be a rather impressive display of Legos from the good old Connecticut-based toy company. An entire model layout section built out of the little plastic blocks.
Apparently, the group putting it together – the International Lego Train Club – is the world’s largest member organization for Lego enthusiasts.
