12/17: Bowling NBA Stars, Alternative Rock and Some Skating Whales

AN NBC STAR BOWLS: Celtics Captain Paul Pierce: Grab the camera to be there when the red carpet rolls out at 6:30 p.m. on Friday at High Rollers Luxury Lanes & Lounge at Foxwoods for “The Truth Strikes Again.” The sports star-studded bowling tournament will benefit Pierce's Truth on Health Campaign and FitClub34, a program designed to empower and inspire young people to lead healthier lifestyles. If you go, you’ll see Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo, among other Celtics to be represented, along with alumni Jo Jo White. New England Patriots Wes Welker and Celebrity Chef Ming Tsai will also be there. What more could you need?

LOOK WEST TO HARD ROCK: Hartford-based Look West has played CBGBs and the Middle East and on Friday night, they will bring the heavy base to Hair of the Dog in Middletown. The show starts at 9 p.m. Let Look West know if you’ll be there on their MySpace page.

WHALE OF A TIME: The Connecticut Whale takes to the ice on Friday night to take on the Worcester Sharks. Sure, the idea of a shark bite is intimidating, but once you get to the ice, we thing the Whale will have an advantage.
