Calling Hours Today for Slain Waterbury Soldier

Family and friends will be gathering in Waterbury on Monday to remember an Army private who military officials say was killed by a fellow soldier in Iraq.

Calling hours for Gebrah Noonan, 26, of Watertown are scheduled from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Albini Family Funeral Home. His funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Military officials said Noonan and Army Spc. John Carrillo Jr., 20, of Stockton, Calif., died on Sept. 24, a day after a non-combat incident in Fallujah.

Army Spc. Neftaly Platero is being held in the killings, officials said.

Noonan's body arrived in Connecticut on Friday and received a military escort from Bradley International Airport to Waterbury.
