Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell is coming to Connecticut tomorrow to sign copies of her latest work, Summer and the City: A Carrie Diaries Novel. She'll stop by Hickory Stick Bookshop in Washington Depot to sign the book, the sequel to her bestselling The Carrie Diaries.
Bushnell hardly needs an introduction. Sex and the City became one of the most popular television series in recent memory and launched a successful film franchise. Bushnell's novel Lipstick Jungle was also adapted to the small screen with an NBC show that ran for two seasons before it was canceled in 2009. Her latest works are prequels to the Sex and the City stories, which find protagonist Carrie Bradshaw transitioning from a small-town girl to a polished writer and fashionista.
Considering its location, Hickory Stick pulls in an impressive slate of authors. That said, this will be one of their most anticipated visits, so arrive early if you want to avoid heavy lines. There is no charge (other than purchasing the novel, which is currently retailing for $18.99). 4 p.m.
Hickory Stick Bookshop is located at 2 Green Hill Road in Washington Depot, CT
