Jason Sobocinski, the owner of New Haven's acclaimed bistro and fromagerie Caseus, will star in The Big Cheese, a one-hour special from the Cooking Channel that airs Sunday night at 8 p.m. It won't be the chef's first television appearance, as he has already been featured on ESPN's The First Take and the Cooking Channel's Unique Eats.
On Sunday, a national audience will watch him tour several dairy farms where he will milk cows, sheep, and goats. He will also cook selected cheese-laden dishes with a handful of local chefs. According to CTNow, network execs are very high on Sobocinski and they are considering launching a full series around his dairy farm travels.
Caseus is located near the Yale campus at 93 Whitney Avenue in New Haven.
