Dangerous Jog: Woman Abducted in Bridgeport

A Stratford woman and her husband are safe after a dangerous jog in Bridgeport.

The 47-year-old woman and her husband were jogging in Washington Park on Wednesday night when a green van pulled up alongside them, police said.

The driver of the van, Miguel Ferrer, 46, of East Main Street,  told the woman he had a gun with six bullets in it and threatened to shoot her if she did not get in the van.

The woman was rescued and Ferrer was arrested early Thursday morning following a brief chase, police said.

Ferrer is charged with kidnapping, unlawful restraint and a number of motor vehicle charges.  He is being held on $750,000 bond.
