Driver Strikes Construction Truck on I-95

The driver of a Jeep had to be pulled from the car after hitting a construction vehicle on Interstate 95 North in Westport early Thursday morning.

The Jeep driver was extricated and transported to Norwalk Hospital for treatment. Injuries are non life-threatening injuries, police said. The driver of the construction vehicle was in the truck when the crash happened and was taken to the hospital to be evaluated.

Firefighters had to contain between 10 and 15 gallons of diesel fuel from a broken fuel line in the construction vehicle. The state Department of Environmental Protection Representative. Clean Harbor clean up contractors were called to clean up the spill.
