Environmental Wine Gab in Greenwich

Has your desire to support and discuss environmental causes been overshadowed by your relentless need to swill wine and socialize with fabulous people while buffering yourself from the blistering cold? Tonight, you can do both: Greenwich Green Drinks is hosting its holiday party from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Le Pain Quotidien. Attendees will rub elbows with some of the state's societal elite, discuss political and environmental issues, eat from a generous spread...and did we mention the gratis wine?

The event will be hosted by Greenwich's Conservation Director, Denise Savageau, but after a few glasses you'll probably be more interested in hearing from her fellow emcee, comedienne Jane Condon. A resident of Greenwich and the Audience Award Winner (NY) during the 2007 season of NBC's 'Last Comic Standing,' Condon has carved out a niche for herself by relating her experiences as a housewife, and launching barbs at Greenwich's high society. Wine (and food, if you are into that) is complimentary, but there is a suggested donation of $10. According to the invite, "It's really 'Suggested' ~ don't let $ keep you away!" Honestly, they don't need the money, but you'll probably feel even more out of place if you don't pay up.
