Follow the Wine Trail

The wine trail includes two dozen vineyards.

Despite a powerful tropical storms and a nor'easter, local wineries have managed to produce some good wine and summer is the perfect season to sample some and tour some beautiful vineyards at the same time.

The Connecticut Wine Trail is made up of 24 vineyards across the state and several events are planned.

Chamard Vineyards’s singer-songwriter series is held on Fridays and Saturdays, 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and that includes a glass of wine.

Gouveia Vineyards offers music every Friday, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Haight-Brown Vineyard  is hosting Wine, Cheese and Chocolate on May 26 and 27.  Reserve your spot to sample some great cheese and chocolates from this great state. This is a two-hour educational fun class.

Hopkins Vineyard is hosting the Artisan Food Experience on June 30, Aug. 25 and Sept. 8. Vendors will showcase the "cream of the crop" in specialty foods. Artisan cheeses, bread and baked goods, chocolates, maple syrup, honey, jams & jellies, meats and wines come together in a seasonal dance of flavors. For more information call (860) 868-7954.

Jonathan Edwards Winery is hosting a spring festival on June 2 and 3.

Maugle Sierra Vineyards is hosting Kent Hewett, Steve DeConte & Bill Morrison Jazz Trio on May 25 and Johnny and the East Coast Rockers Duo on May 27.

McLaughlin Vineyards will host Music by Gomex & Sadlon on May 28, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
