AARP Driver Safety Program:  
Are you a good driver? The AARP Driver Safety Program is looking for a “few good volunteers” to help teach Driver Safety classes in all parts of the state. Instructors receive special training and are reimbursed for all program-related expenses. If you want to do more, click here!
 
Every day thousands of cancer patients need a ride to treatment, but some may not have a way to get there. The American Cancer Society Road to Recovery program provides transportation to and from treatment for people who have cancer and do not have a ride or are unable to drive themselves. Volunteer drivers donate their time and the use of their cars so that patients can receive the life-saving treatments they need. The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America Connecticut Chapter is looking for volunteers to assist with the “Take Steps Walk” on Saturday June 5, 2010 at Wesleyan University Freeman Athletic Center in Middletown. Volunteers will help with pre-event set up, registration, donations (teller experience would be helpful), and clean up. The “Take Steps Walk” raises money for crucial research and programs for those affected by Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis. The Pathways/Senderos Center is looking for adult mentors and tutors for participants, boys and girls ages 10-17, on Mondays through Fridays who are available from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. These children benefit from long-term commitments, so the center asks any volunteers to commit to a year of volunteering (from once a week, to once a month).  The center is located on Arch Street in New Britain.   If you want to do more, click here! 
 
Prevent Blindness Tri-State is looking for a volunteer coordinator for the Sight for Student program in its New Haven office. This person will identify qualified students in need of eye care services and provide vouchers for free eye exam and glasses. If you want to do more, click here! 
 
Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut: 
The Ronald McDonald House is seeking volunteers for a wide variety of tasks. They seek volunteers to man the desk in three-hour shifts from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays and on weekends from Friday night through Sunday afternoon. They are also seeking volunteers to donate dinners, visit with the families.  We are also seeking a variety of donations to the House.   If you want to do more, click here!
