Curb at Comix: J.B. Smoove, best known as Larry David's unlikely companion and housemate Leon Black on HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm, kicks off a four-show swing at Comix. Smoove's a former SNL writer and experienced stand-up who used to regularly perform at the venue. Check out a sample of his material here. Tickets are $25-$55. 8 p.m.
Milford Jam: Asterisk Concerts is bringing Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad to Daniel Street. The New York-based roots reggae ensemble played Gathering of the Vibes this summer and have a devout following throughout the East Coast. Tickets are $12. Flyinfisch opens. 9 p.m.
New Haven Night Out: Popeye's Garage hosts the second evening of Elm City PopFest. Boston's 28 Degrees Tauraus, New Haven natives EULA and and local noise pop outfit The Field Recordings are playing. New Haven scenesters are thrilled about this mini-festival, so it should be a good opportunity to meet likeminded fans, promoters and musicians. $5 cover. 8 p.m.
