FRIDAY
Fox Continues to Inspire: Actor and activist Michael J. Fox will discuss his life and struggle with Parkinson's disease during a lecture at Southern Connecticut State University's John Lyman Center for the Performing Arts tonight. His presentation, entitled "Always Looking Up: The Adventures of an Incurable Optimist," is part of the Mary and Louis Fusco Distinguished Lecture Series. Despite his illness, he has continued to work, landing guest spots on popular programs like 'Rescue Me,' 'The Good Wife,' and 'Curb Your Enthusiasm.' Tickets are available here for $10-$25. 7:30 p.m.
FRIDAY-SATURDAY
Master of His Domain at MGM: Jerry Seinfeld takes his legendary stand-up act to the MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods for a pair of evening shows. Seinfeld recently launched a new web site that will debut three of his stand-up performances every day, and the move has already re-energized his loyal fan base and created a huge stir on the Internet. His shows are usually quick sell-outs, but he has made a few recent visits to the state, so there are still tickets available for $82.50-$150 here. 8 p.m.
Whiskey and Laughs: Comedy Central fixture Nick DiPaolo will perform a slate of four shows at Comix at Foxwoods this weekend. The Boston native has starred in a host of stand-up specials and roasts for the network, shocking viewers with his extremely bawdy, right-leaning critiques of celebrities, politicians, fellow comedians and himself. The sizable bar at Comix is prepared for the occasion: they'll be offering Jack Daniels drink specials and even debuting the famed distillery's new Tennessee Honey variety. Tickets are $25-$50. 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
Going out can be a gamble, so why leave it up to chance? Stack the deck every Friday by peeping Play's Weekend Bender.
