Legendary arena rock acts Journey, Foreigner and Night Ranger are joining forces for a national tour this summer, and they'll bring their nostalgic showcase to Hartford's Comcast Theatre on August 25. Journey is best known for hits "Don't Stop Believin'" and "Open Arms," and Foreigner charted with singles like "I Want To Know What Love Is." Night Ranger's power ballad "Sister Christian" shot to number 2 on the Billboard charts in 1984 and was also prominently featured in the Paul Thomas Anderson's 1997 film "Boogie Nights."
The genre has received a shot in the arm due to the popular Broadway production "Rock of Ages" and FOX's "Glee," both of which have featured reboots of anthemic rock hits from the seventies and eighties. All three bands have undergone major lineup changes since their heyday. Most notably, former Journey frontman Steve Perry has been replaced by Filipino singer-songwriter Arnel Pineda. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday at 10 a.m. for $32-$162. 8 p.m.
