A Greenwich man has died after hitting his head when another driver cut off the bus he was riding on last week.
Francis Defreitas, 68, was on a Milford Transit Bus in Fairfield on Friday afternoon when a Volkswagen pulled in front of it and turned, police said. Defreitas, who was standing at the time, and was thrown backward and hit his head.
He was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital, in critical condition, and died from his injuries at 2:52 a.m. on Saturday, police said.
Witnesses told police the car is a small dark red/brown Volkswagen with a tan convertible top and it cut the bus off at Post and Reef roads.
Police have not yet located the vehicle and ask any witnesses to call the accident investigation division at 203-254-4808.
