More Arrests in Brutal Beer Brawl

A Milford man is in some trouble, accused of bringing alcohol to a party at a Milford beach in June that police said got so out of hand that a teen lost an eye.

The party got out of control when people who had not been invited to the party tried to steal a keg of beer from the beach, police said.

A brawl started and Timothy Calzone, 17, was struck in the face with a beer tap and his eye had to be removed during emergency surgery, police said.

Police later arrested Brian Matyasovszky, 24, who is accused of hitting Calzone.

Police also arrested John Thiel, 21, who is accused of bringing alcohol to the party and giving it to underage people.

Last week, police arrested five girls - three 16-year-olds, a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old -  who are accused of giving Milford police misleading information, which was later proved false, and hindering an investigation. Read more on the story here.

Thiel was charged with delivery of alcohol to minors and was released on a promise to appear and is due in court on Jan. 13.

The five girls were charged with giving false statements and interfering with police.  They were released on $500 bail. All are due to appear Jan. 7 in Superior Court.
