Man Faces 272 Charges After Sending Crude Texts: Cops

A New York man's in some trouble in Connecticut because, police said, he sent almost 100 text messages to his child’s mother faces 272 charges in Connecticut.

The Norwalk woman called police on Aug. 4 to report that Robert Kneip, 43, of Tuckahoe, N.Y. –near Westchester – sent her 24 crude text messages.

When she reminded him to pay child support, he sent another 67 texts, police said, despite protective and restraining orders against him.

He was arraigned on Wednesday in Norwalk Superior Court on multiple counts of harassment, threatening and violating a judge's orders.

The Advocate of Stamford reports Kneip posted $32,000 bail. He is due back in court on Oct. 20, court records show.

The Associated Press reports Kneip couldn't be reached for comment Thursday. A phone listing for him couldn't be found.
