Salmonella Discovery Forces Pet Food Recall

It's time again to check your pet food.  This time the maker of Berkley and Jensen is issuing a recall because some of its dog and cat food could be contaminated with salmonella.

BJ's Wholesale Club along with supermarkets including ShopRite sold the products between August 11, 2008 and October 3, 2008.

The recalled products include:

  • 21.6 lbs. bag of Berkley and Jensen Bistro Blend Premium Cat Food
  • 52 lbs. bag of Berkley and Jensen Small Bites and Bones Dog Food

If you have either or both of these pet foods, they can be disposed of in a sealed container. BJ's is asking that customers do not bring the recalled products into the store.  If you have received the letter, bring it to a BJ's location for your full refund.  For more information from the company click here.
