Sample Connecticut's Best Vino for $25

Locals will be able to participate in a huge tasting of the state's best vino at the third annual Connecticut Wine Festival, scheduled for July 30-31 at the Goshen Fairgrounds. Organizers have recruited over a dozen of the region's top wineries and their current list of participants includes Sunset Meadow Vineyards, Jones Winery, Hopkins Vineyard, DiGrazia Vineyards, Miranda Vineyard, White Silo Farm & Winery, Land of Nod Winery, Jerram Winery, Bishop's Orchards Winery, Jonathan Edwards Winery, Gouveia Vineyards, Sharpe Hill Vineyard, Taylor Brooke Vineyard and Priam Vineyards.

The festival is a laid-back, unpretentious affair and patrons will be able to sample cuisine from local restaurants and browse for handicrafts between tastings. Jerod Cattey, Matt Lefevre, Shawn Taylor, Vince Johnson and Albert Del Rio will take the stage to perform live jazz, country and rock tunes. Tickets are $25 ($20 in advance). Saturday 12-7 p.m. and Sunday 12-6 p.m.

The Goshen Fairgrounds are located in central Goshen at 116 Old Middle Street (directions).
