Special Olympics Torch Run and Summer Games

NBC Connecticut is proud to be Partners in a Caring Community with Special Olympics Connecticut for the 2016 Law Enforcement Torch Run and Summer Games.

The 30th Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Connecticut will take place June 8-10 in communities across the state.

Officers will volunteer their time to serve as torchbearers and carry the Special Olympics “Flame of Hope” through their towns and cities to raise awareness and funds to benefit Special Olympics athletes.

More than 1,500 Law Enforcement officers, Special Olympics athletes and NBC Connecticut’s Heidi Voight will participate in this year’s Torch Run as it makes its way to the Opening Ceremonies of the Summer Games.

The Summer Games will be held Friday, June 10 and run through Sunday, June 12. Come and cheer on some amazing local athletes at the Summer Games!

Be sure to stop by and say hi to First Alert Weather Meteorologists Ryan Hanrahan and Tyler Jankoski at the Opening Ceremony on June 10!
