So with local boutiques set to roll out their racks of deeply discounted designer wares in the coming weeks (some are already getting a jump,) we thought we'd help you assemble a preliminary Sidewalk Season gameplan. From Greenwich to Westport, and as far off as Madison, here are the dates you need to know and the stores you must hit.
Westport Sidewalk Sale Days:
When: July 8-10
Where: Main St. and Post Rd.
Must Shop: Bypass the mass-market chains and go straight to Henry Lehr where you'll find minimalist basics from designers like Alexander Wang, Rag & Bone, and Isabel Marant all deeply discounted.
Greenwich Annual Sidewalk Sale Days:
When: July 21-24
Where: Throughout Greenwich
Must Shop: While Fred isn't on the Avenue, we hear the Old Greenwich boutique takes part in the annual sidewalk sale days by slashing prices on its stock of designer denim (J.Brand, AG,) cocktail dresses, and basics.
Guilford Sidewalk Sales:
When: July 22-24
Where: Guilford Green
Must Shop: Hold off on buying a summer cocktail dress until you check out the sales rack at Kimberly Boutique, where you'll find plenty of options from Nicole Miller and Trina Turk.
Madison Sidewalk Sale Days:
When: July 28-31
Where: Downtown Madison
Must Shop: Guys tend to get overlooked in the sidewalk sale mania, but at Khaki and Black they'll find discounted offerings from Billy Reid, Hudson Jeans, and Steven Alan.
