Taste of Litchfield Hills Menu Revealed

Organizers from A Taste of Litchfield Hills have just revealed a full menu for the event, which will be held at New Hartford's Ski Sundown from September 3-5. Over a dozen restaurants from throughout the region will have their wares on display, offering "grazing-sized" portions of widely-accessible summer fare. Prices haven't been revealed, but most items fall in the $4-$8 range.

Hopkins Vineyard, Jerram Winery, Miranda Vineyard, Sunset Meadow Vineyards and the White Silo Winery will all pour wines by the glass and Thomas Hooker Brewing Company will serve local ales.

Tickets are $10 or $8 in advance. On Saturday and Sunday, the festival runs from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. Things wrap up on Monday from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. Below, are a few of the highlights:

Chatterley's Restaurant: Smoked pork loin sandwiches with black bean & corn salsa and scallion aioli and fried goat cheese salads with baby greens, grilled apricots, apples, spiced pecans and raisins topped with a strawberry balsamic viniagrette.

Backstage -- Eat. Drink. Live: New England clam chowder and Cedar plank-roasted salmon with risotto.

Ferme Restaurant: Seared Stonington day boat scallops and Four Mile River Farm braised short ribs with cauliflower grits and pork sauce, local corn & Maine blue crab fritters with green chile tartar sauce, banana and toffee pies with whipped cream and caramel sauce, and house-made toffees, shortbreads and caramel.

The Foothills Delery: Mesquire-smoked pulled pork with pomegranate BBQ sauce and coleslaw on a sourdough roll, cherry-smoked chicken with mesclun greens and a cherry-apple compote, triple chocolate terrine and pumpkin chiffon Roulade.

The Green Papaya: Shrimps in a blanket with sweet chili sauce, Lao crispy egg rolls with pineapple sauce and Thai chicken wings.

The Green Room: Crepes: Raspberry & tawny port, blueberry & crea and ambrosia crepes, strawberry banana, lemon coconut, mango and orange creamsicle smoothies, frozen lemonade, strawberry lemonade, coffee, chocolate and frappes.

Infinity Bistro: Lobster salad sliders with micro-arugula and dill chive mayo and edamame sliders with alfalfa sprouts and harissa aioli.

Rocket Fine Street Food: Angus beef sliders on a bed of onions, naturally-raised beef and chicken tacos and baked mac 'n' Vermont cheddar cheese.

MarWin Farm: Grilled "Better Than Organic" boneless quail skewers marinated in Asian teriyaki and bourbon garlic.
