Taste of Mystic Offers Affordable Fare

Thirty area restaurants will serve bargain-priced cuisine during the Taste of Mystic, a celebration of local food and music that runs September 9-11 on the village's historic Cottrell Street. Admission is free and menu items will be priced between $1 and $6, with all restos including at least one $2 dish. The lineup is impressive, and includes the likes of The Black Sheep, The Captain Daniel Packer Inne, Munchies Food Truck, Mystic Pizza, RiverWalk Restaurant and upscale casino restos David Burke Prime, Cedars Steak House, High Rollers, Shrine and Jasper White's Summer Shack. For directions, parking info, and a full list of participating restos, visit their event page here.

The event lineup is a bit haphazard, with belly dancing, karate and K-9 police demonstrations, but most of the action takes place around the beer tents where a slew of local bands will perform. Crowds were massive last year: Over 40,000 people crammed into the small seaside village and organizers are expecting another record-breaking haul.
