Beer, Wine Tasting for Trolley Repairs

The East Windsor trolley museum will host a beer and wine fundraiser.

Earlier this year, thieves struck the Connecticut Trolley Museum in East Windsor.

They made off with more than $20,000 in copper and brass components from three trolley cars built at the turn of last century.

All three require extensive repairs to the ceilings, windows and exteriors before they can be returned to operation at the museum.

To help pay for the repairs, the museum is hosting a beer and wine tasting.

On May 11, the grounds will be open up from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for the first of what they hope will be an annual event.

The museum is partnering with Joe's Fine Wines & Spirits to offer a large selection of beers and wines to taste.

There will also be live entertainment featuring a band, a vocalist and a ukulele group.  Plus, people can take part in raffles and ride a trolley car all night long.

Tickets cost $25, with all the money raised going directly to the restoration of the damaged cars.
