Terrifying Home Invasion

Shortly before 7 p.m. on Monday night a 26 year old woman was attacked by a stranger in her bedroom, according to the State Police.  It occured in her West Shore Road home in Ellington.

The victim, who spoke exclusively to NBC 30, says most of the lights in the house were out, she had just gotten out of the shower and wandered into her bedroom.

"He grabbed me by the neck and lifted me right up onto the bed and his other hand came right up to my throat."

The victim says she couldn't scream or breathe; she just kicked, and the suspect fled.

Though she was physically bruised and emotionally scarred by the attack, the young woman tells NBC 30 she's grateful it wasn't worse.

"The thought running through my head was here's this guy on top of me, choking me, what else is going to happen?'"

The suspect is described as a clean-shaven male in his 20s wearing a dark coat and a dark knit hat at the time of the attack.

Connecticut State Police Detectives from the Eastern District Major Crime Squad were called to the scene to process the crime scene and assist with the investigation.
