This Weekend: Family Rambles

Get out and get walking with the family.

Now is the perfect time to enjoy summertime in Connecticut with a stroll down a trail. But if you don't know where to start, or are worried you'll get lost, there are guided walks that are geared toward families.

The Connecticut Forest & Park Association's WalkCT program hosts "Family Rambles" on the last weekend of every month.

The rambles start at trail heads throughout the state and will take families of all ages down the path to discover trees, plant life and sometimes a whole lot more.

On Saturday at the Wilcox Woods Conservation Area in Middletown, you can partake in "Flat Stanley's CT Outdoor Adventure."

Kids and their parents will go on a scavenger hunt through letterboxing to find Flat Stanley in the forest.

There are also family rambles in Manchester, Guilford and Bethany on Saturday, July 30.
