‘Tis the season for a lot of last-minute shopping and traffic.
Traffic was crazy outside Westfarms Mall in Farmington Monday that cars were bumper to bumper and New Britain Avenue looked like a parking lot.
It was the perfect storm – a combination of rush hour traffic, large snow piles and last minute shoppers, trying to cram in three days of shopping into only a few hours, police said. To make matters worse, much of the same is predicted for Tuesday and Wednesday.
To help you avoid the long lines and delays, Macy’s will keep its doors open around the clock until Wednesday, when it will close at 6 p.m.
For some who want to avoid the holiday rush, staying up late and shopping overnight is an option.
