Tuck Happy to Be Healthy, Contributing

Ten months ago, Tuck was sidelined by a knee injury that kept her out the rest of the season.

Morgan Tuck is a key cog for Geno Auriemma's team, even if she's not customarily a starter. She was forced into that role against Creighton because Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis was under the weather, but the redshirt sophomore is happy to embrace any role that helps the team.

“I definitely think that I’m going in the right direction, which feels good,” Tuck told SNY.com's Carl Adamec after scoring 15 points in 30 minutes on Sunday. “It feels good to play pretty well, but I do want to get better. I think I am getting into a good rhythm, but I still need to finish better."

Tuck is averaging 12 points a game this season, a welcome development after she missed most of 2013-14 with a knee issue.

“It is just great to see her back and the fact is that she is being aggressive,” said junior forward Breanna Stewart. “That’s how Morgan plays. She hasn’t really had an opportunity in her career to really come out and be consistent like that, and I am excited to have that on our team.”

Going forward, Tuck's role remains fluid, which is fine with her.

“If Coach sees me as a starter, I’m OK with it. And if he sees me as a sixth or seventh man, I’m OK with that as well,” Tuck said. “I’m OK with whatever Coach sees me as.”
