As children played in the driveway on Pleasant Street in Danbury, a two-year-old walked in front of a tall sport utility vehicle. His aunt, identified by police as Patricia Ordonez, was behind the wheel.
"Because of the height, she didn't see him," Detective Lt. Edward Lopes told the Danbury News-Times.
The two-year-old was run over. He was raced to Danbury Hospital where was pronounced dead.
The investigation continues, but police said alcohol was not a factor in the case.
The boy's identity has not been released.
