10/5: ZLR, Jazz and Some Literary Ravens

ZLR: Zach Lockwood & The Roseliners brought their Boston-based sounds to Connecticut on the fair circuit. Now listen to them without fear of stepping in what the pigs and cows left behind. They are playing at Mohegan Sun tonight. Show is 21 and over. It starts at 7 p.m. You heard them on the Real World, now hear them in person. You won’t be disappointed.

JAZZ IT UP: It’s Monday and we can all use some help easing back into the workweek. How about some help from some jazz music? Rohn Lawrence and Friends are playing at Toad’s Place in New Haven tonight at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are only $5, so it will be easy on your wallet, as well as your ears.

ALL ABOUT POE: Entertain your literary side and learn something by heading to the Manchester Public Library for Edgar Allan Poe celebrations. Wildlife rehabilitator Kasha Breau, of the Connecticut Audubon Society, will talk about the raven, which inspired Poe's famous poem. She’ll go into the raven's mythology, habitat and rehabilitation efforts. The talk’s in the library's Howroyd Room. It starts at 7 p.m.
